It has been 9 months since I cleaned up my eating habits and started working out. I never knew that losing weight and being fit after having kids is even possible. I have never really been fit even when I was younger, only skinny in, and I've achieved that skinniness in a very unhealthy way a few years ago, before I had my last child. And of course, any shortcuts always has a consequence. I gained back all the weight after a few months of losing some weight.
Back in January, I remember crying my hear out when I realized that my engagement ring and wedding ring couldn't even fit me anymore as I was trying to get ready to drop off my kids at their MMA class. I looked at my self in the mirror -- my face was so pudgy and I couldn't believe how much I let myself go. I almost gave up, and I even convinced myself that I am already a mother, so it's okay to look like this. But then again, I would hear comment from my kids that my stomach is squishy and my mom would tell me straight up that I gained a lot of weight. Well they are all right. I was at my lowest point. I couldn't even sleep properly at night because my existing back problem became more severe due to weight gain. That's when it hit it me, I HAD TO MAKE A CHANGE!
I started exercising in February. I did it for three months but to my dismay, I've only lost 10lbs. I knew I was doing something wrong. I did a lot of research and I came across Nutrisystem. I was skeptical in the beginning because it seemed like I was eating so much more, but the reality was, everything I ate was healthy, properly portioned and it was within my caloric requirements of 1200 calories. I did it for two months and slowly weaned off after I have successfully learned how to eat right. So here i am at 122 lbs trying to lose 2 more pounds after struggling with my weight for so many years. I was at an all time high of 170lbs back in January and I was extremely depressed then, but now I am a completely different person and I have a different outlook in life. Losing weight and implementing a diet will never work if you just look at it as a short term fix, you need to change your ideology and accept any diet as a lifestyle that you could do forever.
